CHART's Assistant Director, Tara Lambeth, conducted fieldwork in both Golden Meadow and Dulac this past week. Both areas are experiencing environmental change due to subsidence and sea level rise. The fieldwork included observations and interviews, which will be integral to two different projects assessing environmental change and adaptation methods in coastal Louisiana.

On March 14th and 15th, CHART participated in a Global Transformation Roundtable with global and local leaders in the resilience field. The roundtable took place in Buras, Louisiana, a coastal area experiencing both land loss and increasing flood risk. The roundtable discussions focused on innovative approaches to communicate and institutionalize understandings of current and future flood risk, so that individuals and communities can make informed decisions as they adapt to changing conditions. Roundtable participants included representatives from communities or organizations who work on flood risk, resilience, and adaptation. The roundtable was the first of three planned discussions, which will help build global understanding around effective strategies to educate and mobilize citizens, governments, and businesses to prepare for and respond to changing environmental risks.
